She's made herself better and after all that she's been through, her family's death and Incy's head being mailed to her, she needs a bit of love and happiness. Ha. But she doesn't think she deserve it. Of course HE fights for her and against her. Mmm Reyn. I mean what?

I don't really have much to say about this. It was awesome it was action packed. River's brothers are all super uhmmm...protective? Is that a nice way to put it?? Well....almost all of them. Huh. Guys, if you haven't read this- go. Go forth and read this series. I love it. You'll love it. We all love it. *round of applause* 

Cool stuff. Nobody is ever what they seem to be, are they?

The Way We Fall reminded me of the app PLAGUE. The basics of this insanely addicting app is to mutate your virus/ bacteria/ biological weapon so drastically that humans can't build a cure fast enough. So the goal is to kill the entire human population off. Fun right? I won on my first try *proud smile*

One day, everything is normal, the next someone you know is dead. This book is written like a journal. At first Kae is writing is to she Leo that she can become a good person again, to show her best friend that she can turn back into herself. After the dead start rising and people she knew and loved are dead or gone, she begins to write it like observations. Almost like the journal is her legacy.

 “This is what we do. We make tea and read books and watch people die.”

In the midst of this she finds friends and some one to love.

Kae: In the summary it says bravery. I didn't actually think she was all that brave. Yes, she called people to inform them of the lock down and the virus that is pretty much destroying their entire population. But she does all that on the phone. Yes, she helps with food distribution and such, but she's doing that to feel better and distract her from all the dead. It felt like her situation with Gav was more of a situational romance than anything else. They were together because they had no on left.With every death she sunk deeper and deeper into herself. Meredith is her little cousin and just the cutest thing ever. She's also the one person Kae would do anything to protect.

Gav: This boy has a serious hero complex. He feels that he has to do everything and if he doesn't he's failing someone. Well, everyone. He feels it's his mission to save his island and ultimately save the world. I do think he really fell for Kae. He was likeable, but no book boyfriend here. Pooh.

Overall, I give this book like a 3.4
I didn't fall (haha) for it and it didn't make my world spin. It was fine. Average. It was a book about survival and losing hope. It was about death and destruction and how a few people can help. It was about running and falling and hope. This book was the essence of hope. Because if everyone's falling around you, if you don't hope, you'll fall too whether it by your hand or something else's.

Not that long. I read it the week she was in Houston signing books at the #YeahYA event. I stayed up finishing it so if she said some stuff about it while she was talking I wouldn't be clueless. She said she thought she was most like Henry!

A Bibliophile's Ramblings: Bookish Style

Don't deny it. You know you want some clothes that are bookishly amazing. Well I have surfed modcloth.com and pinterest.com in search of some awesome clothes that are on my wishlist. Why? Who wouldn't want a Jane Eyre sweatshirt? Or a Great Gatsby tote bag? Or and shirt that basically defines your amazingness as a reader?

Picture uno: Bookish Lounge pants. They have book and coffee and words on them and I want them. They look uber comfy. 

Picture 2: Reading is for awesome people. Do I need to further explain this? I mean the cats of the shirt are reading.

Picture #3: This scarf. Oh. My. Gosh. See those words on it? Who am I kidding of course you do. Well, those words are lots of quotes from Pride and Prejudice. *squeaks in excitement* 

Picture 4: The Fault in Our Stars T-shirt. "I lit up like a Christmas tree, Hazel Grace." *quickly runs to room to sob because I CAN'T TAKE ALL THIS EMOTION.

Picture five: Can you tell I like stuff with quotes? Maybe I just like quotes..well these, all my lovely followers, are Jane Eyre quotes. I want these too.

The way April writes makes the words float off the page. Her style automatically, and I mean right off the bat, gives you the shivers and transports you into Violet's sleepy world. As the reader, you are plunged into a small town with a small town feel. 

Violet and her brother's artistic parents take off for Europe to pursue a colorful passion, leaving them at their late grandmother's estate to fend for themselves. They've gone broke. More like four leaps past broke. Violet decides to rent out the guesthouse (I told you it was an estate) for more income and just a little while later the utterly handsome and insanely mysterious River comes to stay. River's a compulsive liar. I'm pretty sure everything that comes out of his mouth is his interpretation on a much more normal life.  Well, okay, he did tell the truth about a few things. But the majority, come on  people. Of course, will this handsome liar comes a secret and deep as the ocean itself and nearly as dangerous. 

“Lots of people have bad stories, and if they wail and sob and tell their story to anyone who’ll listen, it’s crap. Or half crap, at least.The stuff that really hurts people, the stuff that almost breaks them . . . that they won’t talk about. Ever.”

River is really a extremely complex character. As I've previously stated, he compulsively lies. Not only that but the power inside of him is eating at him. There has been no one before Violet so he has no idea what to do with himself. Yes, he is falling for her...or is he? You really can't tell with his excessive mood changes and strange powers of persuasion.  I think he is. But you'll have to decide for yourself when you read the book. 

Honestly, he's passionate and strange and deadly and beautiful. That's what makes River River. His need to be the justice that strikes you down or holds you up defines him. It's who he is. His need to save the good and punish the evil isn't going to change, but if the power continues to consume him and lead him toward the path of insanity, there will be nothing let and even the one person who owns his heart won't be able to save him. 

Now as for Violet, she is just so awesome. Heck, she loved the story A Rose For Emily and that things is as creepy as hell. Those of you who've read it know exactly what I'm talking about. But she found it to be the definition of true love. She drinks coffee on her toes, wears old clothes and is simply her. She doesn't care what people think about her and she just simply is. When River reveals his secret to her she wants to hate him but just can't bring herself to. 

She had already fallen too far.

Through everything, all the lies and as she unfold his tale, releasing his demons and falling deeper into his tangled web, she wants to save him from himself. With him, she find secrets about her grandmother's past that have everything to do with what's happening. History has a talent for repeating itself. 

The climax was like wow. Yup. I can't say much about that except I'll be looking over my shoulder for a while. 

Also, I know I should hate the ending (and I love who's in the guesthouse by the way. Violet can have River, I want him) but I love it. Why? You'll just have to read it for yourself.

The Forgotten Ones {Book Tour}

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.

First, may I say, I just love that cover. I love green. I love purple. It's all just so pretty.

Ok, onto the book. It was amazing. A colorful tale with fae legends and Irish folklore. It wasn't as original as I was hoping for, but it was still a really good read. The problems weren't 'solved' too quickly which has been a problem in some of the books I've been reading lately. 

Allison's mother has been trapped in her own mind for as long as she can remember, calling out the name 'Liam' and looking out into the woods. All Allison wants is to take care of her mother but Liam comes and disrupts her plans. He claims he can save her mother from herself. Allison is forced to trust a man she never knew, who seems to be her father, and venture into the world of the Tuatha de Danaan. 

The way the book unfolded was fast paced and, to be honest, a little rushed. You are caught up in a delightful, quick read filled with colorful visions, true heartbreak, friendship, obsession and love. The love in this book was a little vague but I assume it will progress as the series goes on. 

Overall: 3.5
