Summary

Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

I’ve had a hard time trying to write a review for CRESS. Mainly because I still (after two weeks having had read it) don’t know how I feel about it. I know I didn’t go complete fangirl like a lot of y’all, but I also did not dislike it.

I liked the futuristic setting with the spacy and New World features and the characters are as amazing and kick- butt as ever. We have Cinder and Scarlet and Wolf, Kai and Thorne. Then we have our new addition to the crew, Cress. Cress has the most normal reactions of the crew. She’s scared of the world outside her satellite but curious at the same time. She’s a romantic but cautious (even though she finds Thorne too amazing to resist) I liked watching the obsession with Thorne turn into a genuine romance. It was rather adorable and actually realistic.

In CRESS we see our characters put into more terrifying and self- defining trials than ever before. We see more of Thorne (yay!) and a whole lot less of Scarlet (no!) And we see Wolf in a very, very depressing and dark place.

The action! The romance! The setting!!

Although this one wasn’t my favorite in the series, it hold a permanent place in my heart. If you haven’t started this series, what are you waiting for!?

What do y'all think of this series? Have you read this one yet? What do you think? Say hi in the comments and leave a link to you blog so I can check it out!

  1. I really enjoyed Cinder, the whole idea behind the story was fresh, new and interesting. I haven't had the chance to pick up Cress yet. I'll probably purchase both books, and read them. Thanks for your honest review. I know how it feels when everyone around you seems to be loving a book, but for some reason, it just didn't click with you.

  3. I still have to read Scarlet! I liked Cinder okay, but it wasn't anything I freaked out over. I'm glad to know you liked Cress, but it didn't quite catch you like you would have liked.
