The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart. All I know is: I won’t let them.

Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine.

Reverie means daydream. This girl, I believe, lives in her daydreams. Not in a good way.

Let’s start with the beginning, shall we? In the begging there was potential: a privileged girl with dreams that could take over the universe. She longs for love like she reads about in books. Sounds like anyone you know? >>Just every reader ever<< We also have a boy with a troubled past. Wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit and a mother dead from cancer, he’s broken. When they find each other, it’s forbidden. He’s the help and she’s the one being helped. From here, my dear, lovely, wonderful friends, it only goes downhill.

To me, it seems that the further the book progresses, the more naïve Rev gets. The farther the book progresses, the stupider I think their “love” is. Honestly, I didn’t really like either of the main characters. At all.

Don’t get me wrong, the writing was fantastic. I just didn’t like the actual story line. It’s kind of funny actually. All the teasers I’m seeing everywhere online from this book, they sound so romantic and swoon worthy when in the context of their teenage, secret-filled desperation, seems just like that: desperate.

Overall, I can’t recommend this book. I just didn’t enjoy it. And the ending just fell really flat. *le sigh*

 So I am still excited to read Ms. Murphy's other series. Because the writing really was good. Who's read it? Was it good?
