Synopsis

A Love as Bold as a Texas Sunset . . .

Ex-army medic Katya Smith has always healed other people's pain. Now she has to deal with her own. Taking a job as an athletic trainer on the Pro Bull Riding circuit seems like the perfect escape from her grief—except Katya doesn't know anything about bulls, and even less about the tough men who ride them. She doesn't expect to fall for the sport, or for one tantalizing cowboy who tumbles her defenses.

For rodeo champion Cam Cahill, fifteen years of bucking bulls have taken their toll on his body. Before he retires, he wants a final chance at the world title—and he doesn't need some New Age gypsy telling him how to do his job. But when the stunning trainer with the magical hands repairs more than his worn muscles, everything changes. Soon Cam finds himself trying to persuade Katya to forgive her past so she can build a future . . . with him.

"It made him want to give her something to take her mind off it, like a star, or maybe the moon."

I’ve decided I like these books so much because not only are there swoon-worthy cowboys with perfect manners (where can I get some of that?), but the overly romanticized version of my home state it both amusing, and really pretty dreamy. I mean who doesn’t want toned and tall cowboys walking down the streets of Dallas who call me ma’am and hold door open and *le sigh*. Not that suits and ties aren’t nice, but rugged is pretty enticing too. Manners are also nice. Y’all always underestimate the power of holding the door open.

SWEET ON YOU is about Katya, a gypsy army medic who was recently send home for recovering after a tragic event took place while she was on duty. She’s gone back to her real roots in Chicago and the gypsy community with her ever understanding healer grandmother. When her grandmother passes, she’s lost and turns to one of her friends for help finding a job that will help her cope with her PTSD, but also help her heal so that she can return to service, to her family, to the army. Eventually they come upon Texas and the whole bull riding community. She decides she’s going to try for a physical therapist for the circuit.

Then we have Cam Cahill, fifteen year bull riding veteran and two-time world champion. Let’s just say he’s not quite ready to hand the torch over yet. With all the injuries that’s he’s obtained over the years from riding, it seems that Katya came just in time. Came just in time for what though? To slap some sense into him, mend his broken heart or just hold his hand while he figures things out for himself?

These two are attached to the past. They live in the past. And it hold them back. Besides their rather rough greeting and meeting of the other, sparks fly and sexual tension is amplified.

This was a super short and sweet summer read that was sexy, tender and all together sweet. It had hints of devastation, and even though the ending wasn’t my favorite, it was good for the book. SWEET ON YOU was just that: sweet.
