Can I just scream of joy??? Do you know how long I have been bugging my school librarian for this book?
No?
Weellll...it's been quite a while, lemme tell you.

What book you ask? Well none other than THIS!!!

“But you're the only one, Scarlet. You'll always be the only one.”

Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.

As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.

I just don't know what to do with myself anymore........!!!!
*in sing-song voice* I need to read this but noooooo I have to read a very torturous book first

Enclave by Ann Aguirre #1

Hardcover, 259 pages
Published April 12th 2011 by Feiwel & Friends
(first published April 11th 2011)
ISBN: 0312650086 (ISBN13: 9780312650087)

Rating: 4 Stars

Summary:

 WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE

In Deuce’s world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years. By that point, each unnamed ‘brat’ has trained into one of three groups–Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms. Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.

As a Huntress, her purpose is clear—to brave the dangerous tunnels outside the enclave and bring back meat to feed the group while evading ferocious monsters known as Freaks. She’s worked toward this goal her whole life, and nothing’s going to stop her, not even a beautiful, brooding Hunter named Fade. When the mysterious boy becomes her partner, Deuce’s troubles are just beginning.

Down below, deviation from the rules is punished swiftly and harshly, and Fade doesn’t like following orders. At first Deuce thinks he’s crazy, but as death stalks their sanctuary, and it becomes clear the elders don’t always know best, Deuce wonders if Fade might be telling the truth. Her partner confuses her; she’s never known a boy like him before, as prone to touching her gently as using his knives with feral grace.

As Deuce’s perception shifts, so does the balance in the constant battle for survival. The mindless Freaks, once considered a threat only due to their sheer numbers, show signs of cunning and strategy… but the elders refuse to heed any warnings. Despite imminent disaster, the enclave puts their faith in strictures and sacrifice instead. No matter how she tries, Deuce cannot stem the dark tide that carries her far from the only world she’s ever known.

Rant:

“There were different kinds of strength. I knew that now. It didn't always come from a knife or a willingness to fight. Sometimes it came from endurance, where the well ran deep and quiet. Sometimes it came from compassion and forgiveness.”

Omg. I finished this book in one day and dude...I was amazed. Beware: there are spoilers in this rant

In the beginning it felt like she was alone, even among her friends and when she was paired with Fade...it was like the whole one and the same thing going on. It was nice. And later when she saved Stone-I was amazed by how easily they..I don't know. Gave her up? Betrayed her? Forgot the history they had with her? I was disappointed in them none the less.

“I never belonged anywhere until I met you.”

Fade and her were just that: Fade and Deuce. They were unstoppable and were two halves of a whole. But, I'm not sure if what they had was love. Yah know? It was more like a partnership.
When he sorta declared his feelings for her and she didn't really know how to respond...he walked away. She said she felt that she was disappointing him.
Then they met Stalker. Well not really met..more that captured and then welll.....

“He was the heat of a fire and the sweetness of the moon I'd only just met.”

This is where my emotions get torn in half. Team Stalker or Team Fade? I just don't know.
Dove. How cute of a nickname is that? And the reason he gives??? Oh, yes. (:
She teaches him how to read. He teaches her more ways to fight.
.....then he says he loves her because they are both hunters. I do not like that reason.
Ugh.
Just go away.
I have no idea anymore.....

“A curve of silver hung amid the brighter specks; it looked to me like a curved dagger, pretty but deadly, as if it might slice the sky in two.”

Glimmer by Phoebe Kitanidis

Hardcover, 352 pages
Published April 17th 2012 by Balzer + Bray
ISBN: 0061799289 (ISBN13: 9780061799280)
edition language: English
Rating: 4 Stars
Summary:
When Marshall King and Elyse Alton suddenly wake up tangled in each other's arms with zero memory of how they got there or even who they are, it's the start of a long journey through their separate pasts and shared future.

Terrified by their amnesia, Marshall and Elyse make a pact to work together to find the answers that could restore their missing memories. As they piece together clues about their lives, they discover that they're in the idyllic mountain resort town of Summer Falls. Everyone seems happy there, but as Marshall and Elyse quickly learn, darkness lurks beneath the town's perfect facade. Not only is the town haunted by sinister ghosts, but none of its living inhabitants retain bad memories of anything--not the death of Marshall's mom, not the hidden violence in Elyse's family, not even the day-to-day anguish of being a high schooler.

Lonely in this world of happy zombies, Marshall and Elyse fall into an intense relationship founded on their mutual quest for truth. But the secrets they're trying to uncover could be the death of this budding love affair--and of everyone, and everything, they love in Summer Falls.

Kitanidis Makes Summer Falls a world of complete perfection. But in Summer Falls, perfection has a price.
Ranting:
Wow, ghosts take on a whole new meaning. Not only are they making the residents of this seemingly perfect town act like they're doing more than just coffee... The ghosts that haunt the town are controlled my a truly e.v.i.l master who is distracted only by the woman he married, abandoned and still lusts for. Yup, that's completely normal. Perfect.
When two seemingly perfect strangers (hint hint, they're not) wake up in bed together, No no no not like that. Shush your dirty, filthy mind, they have no recollection of, well, anything. They are lost in a world they cannot call their own and rely on people they're supposed to know for memories that don't even seem like theirs.

“I didn't see myself as the busty type. Too bad bodies are issued randomly, not selected to match your personality”
I liked this book because it was so out of the ordinary and totally not what I was expecting. People turned zombiefied by ghosts? Check. A love story entwined in saving the only thing they never really knew? Check. Lost memories and stolen hearts? Double check.
So you my fellow readers will find in these pages a love (kinds) triangle unlike any other. To each other they are insanely protective, caring and loyal. They are the only two in the town who can really save the town from the cruel facade of perfection and turn the town into something worth knowing.

My Complaints:

The title makes no sense. None. Unless I missed something....Did I miss something?
Dude....gimme some more romance. The book revolved around the town and hardly at all around them. Jackie need more romance. Por Favor?

Team Human by Justine Larbalestier & Sarah Rees Brennan

Hardcover, 352 pages
Published July 3rd 2012 by HarperTeen (first published July 1st 2012)
ISBN: 0062089641 (ISBN13: 9780062089649)
edition language: English
original title: Team Human
setting: New Whitby, Maine (United States)

Rating: 2.5 Stars

Summary:

Just because Mel lives in New Whitby, a city founded by vampires, doesn't mean she knows any of the blood-drinking undead personally. They stay in their part of town; she says in hers. Until the day a vampire shows up at her high school. Worse yet, her best friend, Cathy, seems to be falling in love with him. It's up to Mel to save Cathy from a mistake she might regret for all eternity!

On top of trying to help Cathy (whether she wants it or not), Mel is investigating a mysterious disappearance for another friend and discovering the attractions of a certain vampire wannabe. Combine all this with a cranky vampire cop, a number of unlikely romantic entanglements, and the occasional zombie, and soon Mel is hip-deep in an adventure that is equal parts hilarious and touching.

Acclaimed authors Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan team up to create a witty and poignant story of cool vampires, warm friendships, and the changes that test the bonds of love.

Le Rant:

Huh. Okayz so umm. This is why I hate 3 star books. Its so hard to write a review for them. Though this one is more like a 2.5---they're just so....average. Ugh. Average. It just doesn't feel right on the mouth feel.

"Friends don't let friends date vampires"<----This book really was all about breaking up two beings in love. Yes, yes it was. *sigh* Okay here it goes....

Pros:
I can't think of many. Ok here it goes: the book was a super quick and easy read. The characters were strong and actually had a presence. They did give the book a back bone. And dude, the vamps were like the most reasonable characters in the book. Haha...that can't be good

Cons:
The main characters love interest was wayyyyy too innocent. The main character was all tough and brave/stupid  and well he just wasn't. He was kinda a baby. He was innocent on like everything. He was raised by vamps and all he's seen of humans are the vampire groupies (yes I did just type that) Vampire Groupies?!?!
Haha uhhh I don't think so.
Everything.
I'm not even half joking.
Wish I was.

“Also, vampires don't eat food. You never get to eat chocolate again. Ever. I'd rather die.”

(The quotes above is proof that I, in fact, will never, under any circumstances become one of the undead who made a very poor decision regarding the consumption of chocolate)

choc·o·late

[chaw-kuh-lit, chok-uh-, chawk-lit, chok-] Noun
 1.Life in candy form
2. Best served with strawberries
3. Perfection

Kitten? You have got to be kidding me....
I don't like the cover of the book.
I used to like it.
Now I don't......
And wow....I don't have a vampire label...I know I have reviewed vampire books before. Oh well.

Grrrr

Well um okay.
That's all for now folks!

1. There in a lake in my backyard that is dissapearing
2. My school librarian is one of my best friends.  Hey we have like the exact taste in books. And she's letting me read Scarlet ( book dos in the Lunar Chronicles) before her!
3. If I could be any animal, I would totally, hands down be a panther. But I don't wanna be an animal. Why? They can't read. Sucks to be them
4.I have a fear of heights. They suck. Enough said.
5.I can't decide if I like the taste of coffee or the smell of it better. I know I'm weird.
6. My friends Anna still hasn't given me the gummy bear she promised me. I want a pineapple one.
7.My feet are always cold. I'm surprised there's not ice on them
8. I would reign supreme in a death match for the next book in any series I love. Or food. I like food too
9. I. Hate. The. Cold.
10. I have a new boyfriend in every book I read. And they all adore me.
11. When are we ever going to need to know the area of a circle? And why oh why oh WHY did some brainiac have to go and put letters in math? Who came up with that?!

Questions from Kelly @ Ohdamnbooks :
1. A free book or free movies for a week?

Dude, do I have a movie blog or a book blog? I have a book blog. And I would have to take that week off from everything to read all that I could. I mean helloooo, there's 24 hours in a day for a reason!
2. Do you take notes while you read?
Hahahahaha no but I probably should. I always forget what I read. That's one of the reasons I started the blog-to remember what I read.
3. What standalone book and book series do you think everybody should read?
Standalone huh? Well I absolutely adore The Fault in Our Stars by John Green but of course there's a million more. That's the first one that comes to mind though. Book series. Goodness. Only one? I can do this......Oh fine I'm sorry I can't do just one. I'll do some of my most recent. Of Witches and WarlocksSavage , The Coincidence . OH! Here's another standalone The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window
4. Why did you start blogging?
Hahah. Oops already answered this(: I did it to keep track of my books.
5. How fast do you read? (How many books a day?)
I read pretty fast. I can read at least 1 on a school day and when I have no homework, nothing else to do I can read about 4. (this is 300-350 pgs per book) I read the whole Iron Fey series in one day
6. What makes you hate a book character? If you have the power to kill off any book character, who would it be?

I hate it when books characters are self absorbed. I hate it when they don't know the meaning of respect. I hate it when a girl is really in love with someone and he just blows her off. Even if I hate them though I wouldn't kill them off. They all have the ability to make the character who they are in the end.
7. What is your favorite book genre and why?
I like YA Romance. Why? I like it because that genre did not specifically say what kind. So it can be historical or sci-fi or paranormal.  Hahahahah. Oh and like it when the author has the ability to make my toes curl. But I hate when they rip my heart out. Meanie head.
8. What is your favorite quote from a book?
Is this seriously one of the questions? Thanks, just make my brain explode right now. OK, here's ONE of my favorites (mutters incoherently) From Nevermore by Kelly Creagh "My beautiful, my Isobel. You ask me to wait. And so I wait. For all this, I know, is just a dream. And when, in sleep, at last we wake, I will see you again." Don't judge me. Fine, un mas. "This is home. The two of us."- Anna and the French Kiss
9. Who is your #1 book boyfriend?
This question might just be worse than the last. #1!??!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Ugh. Fine I'll narrow my search down to the books I've read so far this year.  Be right back. -_-  Okay. This isn't working well. Can I do like 8 from the 38 books I've read so far? Yeah? Cool. Thanks
IN NO ORDER
-Kayden from The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden
-Rush from Fallen too Far
-Derek from Born at Midnight
-Bram from Dearly, Beloved
-Galen from Of Poseidon
-Augustus from The Fault in Our Stars
- Matthew from The Savage Blood
- Étienne from Anna and the French Kiss
-Otto from A Long, Long Sleep
Yeah, you really shouldn't have asked me that question.......
10. What are one of your weird book hobbies? (Example: smelling the book before you read, reading only when you're sitting down, etc.)
Weird book hobbies? I have to sit with my knees up and against the front seat when I'm in the car.... I don't really smell the book.  Who knows where its been....
11. If I hand you $100, what books will you buy with that much money?
Ugh. Darling, you have got to be kidding me. Okay here it goes: Covet by Melissa Darnell, Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh, The Hundred Oaks series by Miranda Kenneally, While He Was Away by Karen Schreck, The Boy Recession by Flynn Meaney, Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill, The Souls Screamers series by Rachel Vincent, The Selection series by Kiera Cass

SHHHH!
Don't spread the word!
Three-day weekend. Party at White Rock House on Henry Island.
You do NOT want to miss it.

It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.

But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.

Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

Rant:

Ok. Um. Wow.
Nice job. This is a seriously unique book that is based off of another book. That you Ms. Librarian-best-friend for informing me of its based-off-another-bookness. But no seriously guise I was not expecting to like this. And yes. TJ was the only character I actually liked in this book but hey now, he was so worth it.
And the diary dude.  All mysterious and such.
My one complain is that I thought this book would be scarier. And it wasn't. At least not by my standards.

It was strange how everyone's death made everyone dig deeper into themselves. And dude they all had a dark side. It's like a monsters in all of them. Creeepyyyy.

And I will not be partying on an island accessible only by ferry without my parents knowing and no cell service anytime soon. No siree. Nope. Not my cup a tea.

And I'm sorry, but I really hate Minnie. She annoyed the crap out of me.

Oh and did anyone see the movie Warm Bodies? No? You need to see it. It will make you appreciate inner dialogue.

Wow that was random.

Summary:

It should have been a short suspended-animation sleep. But this time Rose wakes up to find her past is long gone-- and her future full of peril.

Rosalinda Fitzroy has been asleep for sixty-two years when she is woken by a kiss. Locked away in the chemically induced slumber of a stasis tube in a forgotten subbasement, sixteen-year-old Rose slept straight through the Dark Times that killed millions and utterly changed the world she knew. Now, her parents and her first love are long gone, and Rose-- hailed upon her awakening as the long-lost heir to an interplanetary empire-- is thrust alone into a future in which she is viewed as either a freak or a threat. Desperate to put the past behind her and adapt to her new world, Rose finds herself drawn to the boy who kissed her awake, hoping that he can help her to start fresh. But when a deadly danger jeopardizes her fragile new existence, Rose must face the ghosts of her past with open eyes-- or be left without any future at all.

Rant:

And my favorite character award goes to......Otto! Ugh..he's just so perfect. Even if he is blue-hey blue works on him(;
This was a really cool re-telling. And for those of you who have read my reviews before, you'll know I have a strange obsession with re-tellings. I don't know why I just do. Get over it.
I thought it was really cool how Sheehan incorporated the original telling with this: Briar Rose, castle with rose thorns, prince charmings, Rose. Ugh. Jealous of your story telling abilities. Just. Go. Hahaha.
It was so cool how it was kinda futuristic, techno, but still soft and sweet you know.
And wow. Abunchofhotguys.

“Did you know I blush purple? Jamal’s teasing me about it."
"Is he reading this?" I asked, horrified.
"No."
"Sorry I made you blush."
"I’m not. Good night, Briar Rose."
"Good night, blue-skinned alien."

Although, you all should know who I'd choose by now.
Past
Present
Future
Three guys. Three time phases. (anyone else think it's funny how there's three fairy godmothers)
And of course the UniCorp (Unicorn. Hahahahahah) is the evil enchantress. Duh.

Ohhhh I just loved Otto. Book boyfriend, anyone. Too bad. Can't have him. He's mine. Mine mine mine.
And in a weird way, I wanted to cry at some points in the book. It was strange, I didn't think this would be a sad book, but in some parts it was. It really was.
Book two anybody?

“I haven't finished revisiting Sleeping Beauty. As a faerie tale, that one is rife with inherent difficulties. After all, the world doesn't stop just because one person is asleep.”

Over all I would award this book 4 stars because although it was like totally amazing (fangirling) I think that Otto should have been in it more and I wish they went in depth with all the evil stuff a bit more. Wow that sounds weird: I want more evil. heheheheheee

HE said: Fred Oday is a girl? Why is a girl taking my best friends spot on the boy's varsity golf team?

SHE said: Can I seriously do this? Can I join the boys' team? Everyone will hate me - especially Ryan Berenger.

HE said: Coach expects me to partner with Fred on the green? That is crazy bad. Fred's got to go - especially now that I can't get her out of my head. So not happening.

SHE said: Ryan can be nice, when he's not being a jerk. Like the time he carried my golf bag. But the girl from the rez and the spoiled rich boy from the suburbs? So not happening.

Okay so I liked this book, just not as much as I thought I would. The story is really unique: a Native American on a golf team falling for the golden boy. And he's the one falling harder.
The cover is deceiving. No me gusta. You would think that this book would be much steamier than it is. Seriously, they ,like, never kissed. Ever. Grrrrr. Like I said it's deceiving. I didn't say I didn't like it. I do. Love it actually, but it was more like what it MAY be like in the future.
And Liz Fichera uses some weird words.
Ex.
Cheddar=money
And in one sentence she used epic as a bad thing. Epic means it amazing and way cool. It was something you'll never forget. Ever. It's something special. This is how is where it should be used--> yummy looking ice cream, good game plays, complimenting (Dude, the way you landed the half-pipe was epic)
Cheddar is cheese, not money.
Overall I thought the way the author dealed with racism was good, but not as good as it could have been. She mostly addressed it with Ryan and Seth. Ryan was the one who was bothered by it and Seth was just an idiot. I also thought it was convenient how they all had crappy parental units.
The way they brought in Ryan's mom (how her and Fred met) was adorable. I. Loved. It.
I loved the way the other's on the Rez were supportive of Fred. It just shows how loved she is even when she doesn't know it. Hahaha. And she seriously doesn't know it. Buuuuut, they weren't even really in the book for like the first half.
I liked how Liz tied in the motorcycle thing with Seth and Ryan. Clever.

Overall the transitions and the way everything tied together was really good, but it lacked on the whole believability (Cheddar) and needed to dig a bit deeper.

+This book was addicting: finished in a couple of hours
