Summary:

Just because Mel lives in New Whitby, a city founded by vampires, doesn't mean she knows any of the blood-drinking undead personally. They stay in their part of town; she says in hers. Until the day a vampire shows up at her high school. Worse yet, her best friend, Cathy, seems to be falling in love with him. It's up to Mel to save Cathy from a mistake she might regret for all eternity!

On top of trying to help Cathy (whether she wants it or not), Mel is investigating a mysterious disappearance for another friend and discovering the attractions of a certain vampire wannabe. Combine all this with a cranky vampire cop, a number of unlikely romantic entanglements, and the occasional zombie, and soon Mel is hip-deep in an adventure that is equal parts hilarious and touching.

Acclaimed authors Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan team up to create a witty and poignant story of cool vampires, warm friendships, and the changes that test the bonds of love.

Le Rant:

Huh. Okayz so umm. This is why I hate 3 star books. Its so hard to write a review for them. Though this one is more like a 2.5---they're just so....average. Ugh. Average. It just doesn't feel right on the mouth feel.

"Friends don't let friends date vampires"<----This book really was all about breaking up two beings in love. Yes, yes it was. *sigh* Okay here it goes....

Pros:
I can't think of many. Ok here it goes: the book was a super quick and easy read. The characters were strong and actually had a presence. They did give the book a back bone. And dude, the vamps were like the most reasonable characters in the book. Haha...that can't be good

Cons:
The main characters love interest was wayyyyy too innocent. The main character was all tough and brave/stupid  and well he just wasn't. He was kinda a baby. He was innocent on like everything. He was raised by vamps and all he's seen of humans are the vampire groupies (yes I did just type that) Vampire Groupies?!?!
Haha uhhh I don't think so.
Everything.
I'm not even half joking.
Wish I was.

“Also, vampires don't eat food. You never get to eat chocolate again. Ever. I'd rather die.”

(The quotes above is proof that I, in fact, will never, under any circumstances become one of the undead who made a very poor decision regarding the consumption of chocolate)

choc·o·late

[chaw-kuh-lit, chok-uh-, chawk-lit, chok-] Noun
 1.Life in candy form
2. Best served with strawberries
3. Perfection

Kitten? You have got to be kidding me....
I don't like the cover of the book.
I used to like it.
Now I don't......
And wow....I don't have a vampire label...I know I have reviewed vampire books before. Oh well.

Grrrr

Well um okay.
That's all for now folks!
