Ah, football games. A great American past time...though not our nation's national sport (that's baseball, loves) it still brings people together. Of course, it also destroys friendships and family ties with the loss of the (hometeam?) team one is rooting for.
Granted, I'm not near as involved as many of my friends. I just like the excuse to make my makeup look even more amazing than usual. Also socialization. Food is also really nice honestly.
For those of you, dear readers, who are unaware: I'm a student at the University of Houston. Today we play against Rice. To celebrate the occasion, I've complied a list of some of my favorite books with sports in them.
The first two are football...the rest..well you'll have to see for yourself.
Enjoy.
THE WALL OF WINNIPEG AND ME
by Mariana Zapata
This is, without a doubt in my mind, one of the BEST sports romance books of all time. And I've read my fair share..and more than my fair share. Swoony, slow-buring, and oh so worth the wait: this book has it all. If I could read this a thousand times for the first time I would. I adore this book. Even more amazing?
If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can download this book right now for nothing

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn't find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He's asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?
CATCHING JORDAN
by Miranda Kenneally
This is one of the first sports romance book I read. Ever. You can say I'm a little biased in saying that is it totally the bee's knees. This is about as YA as you can get. With a sweet romance along with some teenage drama, this book will have you laughing and cringing right along with the characters. Grab it on Amazon now! It's also available on Kindle Unlimited! Which is just found out today..how amazing is that?

ONE OF THE BOYS
What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.
But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?
HIM
by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
Jesus Christ on a cracker. This book is angsty and heartbreaking and cute as hell. Some folks juts know how to hit you just in the feels: Bown and Kennedy do it freaking flawlessly. Hockey players falling in love. Not smoothly but totally head over skates.
My heart. Somebody hold me.
Grab this one on Amazon! Like now. Not kidding, lovely.

They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend... and a big one to learn about himself.
THE DEAL
by Elle Kennedy
TRIGGER WARNING: this book does discuss rape
I have a thing for slow-burning romance, but in this book, with the subject matter, it is beyond necessary for our main girl. I just want to hug everyone in this book to be completely honest. Also, side note, what's with all the shirtless white guys with ridiculous abs on all these covers?
Anyways, this book is sweet and cute and I love it. Love love love it. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy real quick.

She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy...
Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice...even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.
...and it's going to be oh so good
All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.
