This book was beyond fantastic. A breathtaking tale filled with passion, romance, self discovery with dark twists and an amazing female MC. Beryl is witty, brave (even though she doesn't think so) is a pro at putting her foot in her mouth. Her voice was one worth hearing and her story is even more amazing.

It all starts out when her friend falls out on her promise to provide a house for Beryl when she moves to New York. Some friend. Anyways her uncle, being the awesome guy that he is, decided to have Beryl house sit for the uber hot and uber gorgeous Gavin. Gavin is a rock star with so many problems that you could drown in them.

So Beryl is basically bestowed with the task of cleaning up his house before he comes back at who knows when from who knows where. *hint* Beryl find out. Along the way she makes unlikely friends and enemies. She learns not to hide, who to trust and fugues out who she is. And shes pretty awesome. 

Beryl learns who Gavin in through internet chatting and such. With each other they find someone they can trust, someone who may not understand but who will usually listen. With Gavin, Beryl is able to speak up, say what she thinks and help him mend his broken mind.

Beryl had to grow up when she wasn't supposed to and Gavin feels responsible for the death of his muse. I think for both of them this was more a journey of self-discovery than anything else. I mean yes there was love along the way- I wouldn't have really liked it other wise. My point is that the romance wasn't the most prominent thing. The whole self-discovery was. It was nice. The love, even though it wasn't the main point, it was like the string that wove the story together. The love made it perfect . The love made it make sense.

This book was a second chance: at love, a life, at hope,at freedom.
