The Right Kind of Wrong {Blog Tour}

Published August 2013
ISBN: 1484031849

Summary
Nothing stays hidden forever.

Kara Pierce has held onto the same dream since she was a little girl: to be the next Katie Couric.

Vince Gage, a budding filmmaker whose I-don't-give-a-shit attitude cancels out his charm, almost ruined it for her once, and now he’s back, threatening to do it again.

When the two of them are paired together for a college competition with a $20,000 prize, the only thing they agree on is winning.

They return to Iowa where Kara grew up to research her grandfather's service in World War II, instead they find themselves in the middle of a family scandal kept quiet for far too long.

As Kara and Vince investigate the scandal deeper, they realize the price of uncovering the truth is so much more than they bargained for.

~Jade was kind enough to join us for an interview!

Hi Jade! Thanks so much for joining us for the interview! The coffee is amazing isn’t it?

Hey Jackie. Thanks so much for featuring me on your blog. And YES. This coffee is *takes a sip* perfect.

So let’s just dive right into the interview. Sound good? *Jade nods* What instrument, if any, do you play?

-No instrument! However, one semester in sixth grade I really wanted to play the cello, so my mom got me lessons and I think I only lasted a few months before I begged and pleaded to drop it. Finally, after hours of terrible practicing, my mom obliged.

Haha! I was the same way. I’ve played the piano and the viola. I was okay, but I just didn’t enjoy it. Okay, next question. If you were stuck on a deserted island, would you rather have with you a book, a banjo, a pineapple or a cinnamon scented candle with you? How would you use it?

-Oh my gosh. That is a difficult question. Because as a writer and book lover, I'd immediately have to say the book, but the survivor instinct in me says it would be smarter to choose the pineapple or candle. Shoot, real life is for being practical, right? I'm going to say a book. Because no matter how many times I read that darn thing, I'm sure I could always find new ways to look at the writing or the story. It would provide hours of entertainment while I sunbathe or run away from island creatures.

YES. I would live in trees. I could build my own kingdom! Or at least run away from lions…How did the idea of The Right Kind of Wrong come to be?

-A couple years ago, I told my grandfather I would write his story since he was a tank driver in WWII. One day, I woke up and I knew the time was now. So I started to write his story except, the more I wrote, the less of HIS story it became and the more of Kara's (the main character) story started to emerge.

What is a book that you secretly adore?

-Ha! I'm a total Nicholas Sparks lover. I know, I know. I can't help it. I *always* pre-order his books and have them delivered/picked up the day they're out. I usually devour them in a night, too.

LOL. The only one I really liked of his was The Last Song- and I didn’t like the movie all that much. What is one book that for you, just didn't live up to the hype?

-Hmm. I hope I don't catch too much grief here but 50 Shades was not my cup of tea at all! But that's the beautiful thing about readers -- we all love different things so someone is always bound to love and hate a certain book.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do?
-I would LOVE to travel anywhere, right now! But I've always wanted to go to Dublin, Ireland because of it's deep literary roots. Plus, those damn accents are just SO sexy ;)

Bagels or Donuts?
-Neither, I'm Gluten Intolerant :(

So is my sister!! Coffee or Tea?
-Both! Though I love love love love coffee. I love everything about it. I drink entirely too much. In fact, at the time of answering these questions, I've had about five cups already!

Ebook or print?
-There's nothing I enjoy more than going to a bookstore or library and picking up books and smelling them, touching them, admiring them. There is something about holding a physical book in my hands that overjoys me. That being said, my upstairs is currently a fire hazard and while I love print book, ebooks have become more economical and space saving for me. I love the ease of having a hundred (literally!) books at my fingertips at any one time.

Pens or pencil?
-Well... I have terrible handwriting and my hands cramp up easily when writing so I hardly ever write with pen or pencil but I'd choose pen if I did write on paper a lot.

Who is someone you admire and why?
-There are quite a few people who fit into this category, but since we're talking about my book today, I'd have to say that my grandfather is someone I really admire. Not only did he serve in WWII, but he liberated concentration camps, fought on the front lines and survived when his tank blew up. He was an incredible man with a big heart and loved his family fiercely.

What is your proudest accomplishment?
-I'll be honest, I'm so young I don't think I have an incredible amount of accomplishments yet! But I am proud of that I not only wrote a book, but I took the time to edit, revise, have it professionally edited and publish it. I think I cried tears of joy when the first person who wasn't family or a friend read and enjoyed it!

Who's your favorite character in A Right Kind of Wrong?
-I have a special place in my heart for Vince. He's based on a very dear friend of mine and I enjoyed using some of his best (and worst) characteristics but also exploring what other fictional traits I could use to make him come alive. I'm pretty happy with the results as I still swoon when I read some of his lines :)

Which character are you most like?
-Though Kara is not based on me or my life in any way, I do feel that I'm most like her in some aspects. She's very driven and focused on her future almost to a fault and I feel that I'm that way sometimes too.

Do you have a book boyfriend?
-Oh yes! Too many to count! Haha. But I think my favorite is a tie between Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind or Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars.

Thanks so much for joining us Jade! I really enjoyed talking to you!!

This was really fun! Thanks for featuring me(:
